"There is a moment, right at the start of Eyeline Inspector, where the envelope of a sound is reversed, and, briefly, it feels like time has moved in the same direction. It’s a curious quirk in the production of a track which feels like it’s brooding over the memory of the dancefloor, whilst crucially being distant and somehow detached from it. Eyeline Inspector is a piece of music not aimed squarely at the club, but rather recalls the early-morning tinge of the journey back from it, when the embers of the night are still gently smouldering."

Lewis Shields aka Safejas is a Berlin-based producer working in the fractured seams of electronic music, producing sounds which feel both alien and familiar. Moving fluidly between the more exploratory fringes of club music and expansive ambient soundscapes (and readily exploring the space between them), Shields’ music breathes with curiosity and fractious detail.
